Wow, I thought my bacon comment killed this thread for good. (Dr. Frankenstein voice)... "It's alive.....It's alive!"

Roger Clemens being charged with perjury for lying to Congress. One of those GTFOH moments in life.
by miseryloveselders ini don't vote, i'll never vote.
some of that may be due to a jw upbringing, but i'm convinced a lot more its my upbringing in the city.
i hate politicians with a passion.

So Congress is supposed to turn a blind eye toward a known false testimony? I don't think so. Clemens lied to Congress under oath. What good is the law without enforcement? Yes, it may be hypocritical for corrupt officials to charge someone with perjury, but it must be done for the sake of the law commanding respect.

I measure when cooking from a printed recipe. But generally I just eyeball with reasonable success.

What would it take for you to stop being a Jehovah's Witness?
by new light ini would like to present this question to my believing family, one by one.
it seems to me to be a powerful thought.

Actually, Will, that qustion is far better than mine because it does not presuppose leaving, only honest examination. Thank you.

"Spiritually Strong" JWs Are Actually Spiritually Weak
by new light inthe more a person does in jw busy work, the weaker spirit they must actually have.
many times, they are simply overcompensating or trying to fill.
a void in themselves.

I would like to present this question to my believing family, one by one. It seems to me to be a powerful thought
provoker. Also, I think those of us that have done some research know how many wonderful flip-flops, coverups,
scandals, and lies there are to be shared once a person is willing to hear them. It seems to me that if their
answer is anything short of "nothing could stop me", then we have the horrifying facts in all sorts of flavors to
shake them into reality. What other power questions have you all heard or come up with?

Aussie Oz-- We all knew that he who has the most colorfully marked Watchtower is nearest to God. I remember this one mouth breather whose
IQ must have been somewhere near 75 used like four different highlighters and a pen to mark up his studies. It was such a joke, as the man could
get lost in a child's placemat at a restaurant for hours, yet that rainbow of a study article made him feel and look like a WT scholar. Nice well
meaning guy, to be fair, but a great example of the puddle depth spirituality WT encourages.

The truly strong spirts eventually grow tired of being told what to do by those in darkness and ake their way out.

I believe a person can be spiritually strong with no religion or even fixed belief in a god. One who is strong in spirit displays a buoyant resilience in the face of adversity. In good times, this person remains humble and empathetic toward his fellow beings, while freely offering his strength and positivity to those in need, knowing he is connected to that something that has no limits. The strongest in spirit do these things of their own volition without care for some big prize at the end of their time here on Earth.
